Former VFUA Executive members James Scully and Steve Piperno have transitioned to AFL football in no time.

James made his debut in Round 1 at Etihad Stadium in the clash between St. Kilda and GWS, on a panel that included numerous familiar umpires that also graduated from the VFL.

Steve will make his debut in Round 2, also at Etihad Stadium, in the North Melbourne v Brisbane match this Sunday.

Both James and Steve umpired the VFL grand final in 2014 whilst serving on the VFUA Executive.
