Mini Olympics

The Mini Olympics is an annual VFUA event hosted by AFL Victoria in a spirited battle for the Paul Anderson Shield.

The VFUA is proud to once again stage the Mini Olympics. Each squad competes in 7 events in an effort to win the much coveted Paul Anderson Shield. Coveted not just for its status as “the best squad”, but also because of the symbolism of the shield itself. While few of us may have even met Paul Anderson, the significance of the Mini Olympics is in the way we as an umpiring group recognise our own – current and past.

As for the future – the VFUA encourages ALL umpires to donate a minimum $10 to the event’s charity partner Cancer Council Victoria (All donations are tax deductible, and a receipt will be provided prior to the close of the financial year). You can donate via the link below or through your track rep.

The Mini Olympics is a fantastic networking event for new and old umpires, and one of the few occasions for the year all squads are on track at the same time. See your track rep to ensure you don’t miss out on your favourite event!

A BBQ and soft drinks will be provided by the VFUA and AFL Victoria after the presentations.
